Sharad Kale

"I celebrate love in my works, through Sringar – an emotional adornment, which is one of the Navraasas."

I get my inspiration from Sringar – adornment. Sringar is one of the Navrasas – emotional flavors, used to describe attraction, beauty, romance and devotion. It is also considered as the ‘Mother’ of all Rasas, as it gives scope for a myriad of other emotions including possession, lust, anger, compassion, and of course for the expression of intimacy. No other Rasa has such a vast scope. I involve Sringar Rasa in my works to describe the romantic relationship between a lover and his beloved as a metaphor for the relationship between the individual and the divine making it spiritual and festive.
