Artist Biodata
Manoj Kachangal, born in 1979, Shadhora, Madhya Pradesh. He completed BFA Painting, 2001 & MFA, 2003, Government Institute of Fine Arts, Indore. His solo shows: 1998, Lal Bag, Indore & Devlalikar Art Gallery, Indore; 2000 & 2002, Central Museum, Indore; 2001, M G Art Gallery by NCZCC, Allahabad & ABC Art Gallery, Varanasi; 2004, Indusind Gallery, Chandigarh & Citibank, Mumbai; 2004, Birla Academy of Art & Culture, Kolkata; 2005, 07 & 13, Dhoomimal Art Centre, New Delhi; 2007, ‘Dharti Ambar’, The Art Entrance Gallery, Mumbai; 2006, ‘A Consecration of Space’, Marvel Art Gallery, Ahmedabad; 2007, Nehru Center Art Gallery, Mumbai & 2008, ‘In Search of the Abyss’ at Mon Art Gallerie, Kolkata.His participations are: From 1999 – 2000 he in group shows in Indore, Ujjain, Bhopal & New Delhi; 2001, Contemporary Indian Painting Exhibition, Kunststation, Kleisnsassen Art Gallery, Germany; 2002, AIFACS State Exhibition, Kala Parishad, Bhopal & Galerie Muller & Plate, Munchen, Germany; 2004, Marvel Art Gallery, Ahmedabad & Lalit Kala Akademi, New Delhi; 2002 & 2004 – 2006 he took part in many group shows at New Delhi, Udaipur, Mumbai, Gurgaon & Kolkata; 2007, 1×1 Art Space, Dubai, UAE; 2007, Jehangir Art Gallery, Mumbai; Lalit Kala Akademi, New Delhi & at Dhoomimal Art Centre, New Delhi; 2008, ‘Awakening the Spirit’, Lalit Kala Akademi, New Delhi & in ‘Homage to Swaminathan’ at AIFACS, New Delhi. He has received several awards: 1999, Bronze Medal at Avantika, the 7th All India Exhibition, Gwalior; 2001, Raza Award, Madhya Pradesh Kala Parishad, Bhopal; 2003 & 2004 he received the Meera Gupta Merit Scholarship, Indore. His works are in several public & private collections.
