Things end in order to begin. I thought of these words when I placed myself before one of the tube paintings of Alok Chakraborty. As I was having a fixed look at the details of the canvas Alok whispered that there were invisible layers after layers through which I had to penetrate before I reached the materially visible first layer of the painting. And henceforth I was to have had a close view into the prismatic depth of a neat symmetry of lines, colours and figures. There were no defacements, breakages, quakes, and still the segmented cylindrical views stretched towards unending clarity. Alok by using his own method makes his canvas less rough edged so that the postmodern acrylic can create a synthetic look. This essentially constructive creation have given birth to intellectual appreciation and aroused recollective aesthetic tranquility.
